Regular/Repeating
Events
Regular/repeating events are
always listed with other events; see
above
to access those listings.
- Dinners usually
happen on the third Saturday of every
month. Brunches, when they happen,
usually occur on the third Sunday. Reservations will try to be made.
If the restaurant
- Does not accept reservations,
- the sponsor will describe him/herself before the event
so
he/she can be recognized and
- everyone will meet at the restaurant at the specified
time.
- Be sure to look both inside and outside the restaurant
to
find the sponsor.
- Please try to be punctual.
- Accepts reservations,
- a reservation will attempted to be made for the
specified
time.
- If the restaurant cannot accommodate everyone at a
particular time, the
exact time may change and all attendees will be alerted via telephone.
- Please try to be punctual after a final time has been
decided.
Attending diners usually wait up to 15 minutes for latecomers before
ordering.
-
- Members, along with a
guest, may attend any event/activity.
- To participate in any event/activity, please RSVP at least two
days before the event by supplying:
- your name,
- phone number,
- and which event you would like to attend
to the sponsor of the event.
- All attendees will be contacted if the activity/event time
changes for any
reason.
- If you need to cancel, please be courteous and let the sponsor
know as soon as you know.
- Events usually happen on-time. The sponsor of an event may
choose
to wait
some period of time for latecomers before continuing with the activity.
For example, for a hiking event, the sponsor may choose to wait up to
15
minutes for latecomers before embarking on the hike.
- Members may bring a guest to any activity. A guest may be a
parent ('though, of course, their offspring
aren't
allowed).
- Be sure to review the Legal section below.
Legal
- Neither Boston
No Kidding! nor No
Kidding!
is responsible for any injuries, psychological or otherwise, or deaths
due
to attending or participating in events or activities sponsored by Boston
No Kidding! or any of its members.
- All attendees are encouraged to review their insurance policy
before
participating in an event or activity. And, take care!
Sponsoring is the only way
events/activities happen. Since it is so
easy,
diversifies event locations (e.g., suburbs outside of Boston), and
makes
the club much more interesting to more people, every member is
encouraged
to sponsor as many events as she/he is able to. Sponsoring your own
event is
very easy. All you have to do is pick:
- an activity that you
enjoy
- a date convenient for you
- a time convenient for you
- and a place convenient for you
(preferably, at least a month
ahead). Events that you were already
planning to
attend anyway are the best. Then, relay information about the event:
Before sponsoring an event,
you
might consider posting
an inquiry to evaluate interest in your event beforehand. This may
help
you to plan your event thoroughly. (See above about
Yahoo Group polls.)
